*Padron Born in the Netherlands and sashed Dutch National Champion as a foal, breeders Dr. & Mrs. J.M.M. Blaauwhof must have known their flashy chestnut colt was very special. On visiting the farm in 1978, Mr Bob Stratmore was overcome with Padron's beauty and type: "Padron had absolutely the most extreme head I had ever seen. A big eye and he always arched his neck and trotted like a prince. He just had a certain presence, and you knew he was different. Just extremely pretty. There was nothing I could do...I wanted him inmediately". He purchased and exported Padron to the US as a yearling. Once in the US, Padron took the halter ring by storm, becoming a Triple-Crown winner, winning Scottsdale Senior Champion Stallion, Canadian National Champion Stallion and US National Champion Stallion in 1982. Padron was later written into the history books with the largest syndication for an Arabian stallion, at USD $11,000,000. Padron has been proven in the breeding barn, siring over 60 US National winners. One of his best known get is Padron's Psyche (out of Kilika), the leading sire of Halter champions at the US Nationals in 2000. Padron's sire Patron, was by the Nazeer son Aswan, was given to the Russian's by the Egyptian government as a gift in return for building the Aswan dam. His dam, Odessa, was a proven show mare, named Regional Champion Mare in 1977 with Padron at foot. Padron carries 50% Russian lineage (technically 50% English, 25% Egyptian, 12.5% Polish and 12.5% French). Padron's temperament was a memorable feature for those lucky enough to meet him: "*Padron was well-mannered and absolutely gorgeous, with the best neck I've ever seen." - Don Burleson. "*Padron was fun and easy to ride, easy to train, and he had tons of motion. I believe that if he had been trained for performance before halter, even in today's competition he would have been a champion English pleasure horse. He had incredible motion off both ends." - Bob Battaglia, who schooled Padron after his US National Championship
