Windmaster Farms is owned by Melissa and Steve Forberg. Melissa started riding and working with
horses as a young girl. As a teen she worked as an exercise rider and later studied dressage at the
Egyptian Agricultural Organization (Egyptian Stud). She has also worked as a wildlife rehabilitator in Egypt
and Thailand as well as in the United States. Besides running the farm, Melissa is a disaster consultant to the
Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). She is a team leader on their national disaster response team and
teaches classes on animal rescue and emergency sheltering throughout the country.

Steve retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service. During his career he was a fighter pilot flying F-4s and F-16s in almost every area of the world. These days he flies cargo as a commercial pilot. Although he rode as a boy, his equestrian education truely began when he married Melissa in 1983.
Windmaster Farms began in 1983 with the purchase of an abused mare.
She turned out to be a Negatiw grand-daughter and regional champion mare. As we looked for a stallion that
would cross well with Ibnne Princess, we found our mentor, Gale Allen, who was standing a Muscat son. We were soon
members of the Vaguely Noble syndicate and began buying additional mares to breed to him. The farm had it's ups and downs
as the Air Force moved us from Utah to North Carolina and back. Our efforts were placed on hold in 1990 when we moved
overseas, first to Egypt and then to Thailand. In 1995 we returned to the United States and purchased our farm here in
Northwest Florida. While moving our mares from Utah to Florida, we decided to buy the *Padron son, GLF Valentino from
our syndicate partners, giving us an outstanding stallion to cross with our Vaguely Noble mares. In 1998 we purchased
the straight Russian imported stallion *Aspirin. Together with carefully selected mares, Tino
and *Aspirin have formed the basis for our line of athletic, correct and loving horses. In 2003 we added a third
stallion to our breeding program. Nobles Galilao is the son of Lacy, one of our mares, and Vaguely Noble. He brings
size, athletisism and the Muscat line back into our offspring.
We are members of the Arabian Horse Discovery Farms program and love to have visitors come to the farm and see our horses. Here Melissa introduces Tino to some young visitors.
